Eldred's introduction to the SCA was at a few events in the mid-1980's in the Barony Marche of the Debateable Lands where his interest in archery
and heraldry were sparked. In the early 1990s, he began attending events in Atlantia. Additional arts and skills began to draw his attention--specifically:
calligraphy, illumination, and brewing. Calligraphy and Illumination led to heraldry. Heraldry led to architecture and stained glass. Architecture led to
an interest in period furniture and woodworking. Woodworking led to game boards and thus, to games and numismatics. In short, every dive into a particular
art turns into a sideways exploration into other arts.
On rare occasions, or when asked, Eldred will bring a collection of medieval board games to an event and set up the Red Ale Inn--in which people can come play strategy games as well as games of chance. Motto: Studia infinita, tempus finitum |

OTHER RECOGNITIONCollege of Heralds
Herald Extraordinary-Azure Dragon: Jan 2008 In the first two decades of Atlantia being a Kingdom, Baronial heraldic titles were not bestowed automatically upon taking office. The ranks progressed through Cornet, Pursuivant Extraordinary, Pursuivant, Herald, and Herald Extraordinary. A Baronial herald was not styled with a title (e.g., Gordian Knot) unless they had attained the rank of Pursuivant and demonstrated knowledge and aptitude as a herald in multiple areas. Often Kingdom herald staff positions come with a rank of Herald (the capitalization indicating the seniority), and personal titles are normally bestowed upon former Kingdom Principal Heralds or Heralds who have performed significant service to the College of Arms.
